James Jones & Sons Limited, a leading forestry and timber company, will adopt several Pinja systems across its functions. The company specialises in timber processing, including timber harvesting, sawmilling, pallets and packaging and distribution.

The company’s collaboration with Pinja began in October 2024, based on the company’s need to introduce modern systems into their functions. Pinja’s technology is set to improve the overall efficiency of operations and enable their digitalisation. This includes optimised wood volumes and deliveries, for example, which will reduce surplus and the carbon footprint. It will also be a key component in improving the company’s value chain transparency and production planning.

Pinja’s systems will be used across all timber-related functions at James Jones & Sons. Forest by Pinja will be adopted for all forest operations, covering wood purchasing, harvesting, transportation and related planning activities. It will also be utilised in financial administration and sales.

Terminal by Pinja will be introduced by James Jones &Sons at six of its sawmills, supporting raw material intakes and inventory management. Timber by Pinja will be incorporated into the company’s sawmills for further processing and a separate processing plant.

“This marks an  important milestone for Pinja, as it is our first sale in the UK. The collaboration with James Jones and Sons is a testimony to the international competitiveness of our products and expertise,” says Antti Miettunen, Pinja’s Vice President of Digital Supply Chain Solutions.
