Pinja started working with The Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District’s (HUS) knowledge-based management and data warehouse in May. The results are already being utilised in, for example, the pandemic reports.
The Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District’s (HUS) knowledge-based management and data warehouse initiative has started according to plan. Pinja started the work in May, and the first results are already being utilised in the hospital district’s daily work.
Pinja is developing HUS’ data warehouse system that enables executive reporting. The initiative is significant: HUS has approximately 27,000 employees, and the organisation’s data warehouse is one of the largest in the Nordic countries.
The initiative’s predicted value for four years is EUR 8.4 million. The share of Power BI development is EUR 2.4 million, and the share of the data warehouse is EUR 6 million. The agreements, which are valid until further notice, cover the continuous development, support and maintenance of the systems.
– The results of our work are already being utilised in, for example, the pandemic reports. Data utilisation reaches a completely new level when its quality and integrity are taken care of with automated tools. The reports impact significant decisions, so the reliability and precision of the data is essential, describes Pinja’s Business Manager for the Digital Business unit, Petteri Väisänen.
According to Väisänen, work with HUS has gotten off to a great start because the partner has a strong understanding of how to utilise knowledge-based management and transparency in the development of the operations.
Right now, the work is carried out by a team of approximately ten people at Pinja. They will implement a modern and automated data warehouse on an Azure cloud platform by utilising WhereScape and Ellie solutions.
