Founded by two brothers, the company has grown fast while staying true to its family business roots. To keep up with that growth, Deligna runs its own wood processing and sawmill operations through Baldarys UAB, its dedicated production arm in Lithuania. Deligna operates on a made-to-order basis and can even turn around custom pallet orders for key clients within a single business day.
Behind that speed is CEO Martynas Pielikys' passion for process optimisation and his own operational system, a highly customised way of managing orders, logistics and pallet calculations that had evolved over many years.
Martynas managed operations using Excel spreadsheets and his own memory before working with Pinja. He estimates that “approximately 50% of our factory information was in Excel and 50% was in my head.”
Risk of human error and forgotten orders
With so much information in one person’s head and Excel, there was always a risk one would forget to process an order or miss something critical. Given they process between 80-100 trucks per month, this was a significant operational risk.
Data security and accessibility issues
Information was also scattered across Excel and files on Martynas’ laptop.
"I once left my laptop in the car during minus 30-degree weather. I couldn't turn it on the next day and had to keep it warm for hours before it worked again.” he shares. “Data wasn’t accessible remotely or from other devices. Now with Pinja's cloud-based system, I don't have that worry."

Making the right connection
Deligna was first introduced to Pinja by Alex Wysocki, business representative for the Lithuanian tech and software engineering firm Sigli, Pinja’s partner specialising in digital transformation.
Alex's work bridges technology and heavy industry, particularly the global timber and wood processing sectors, consulting sawmills and manufacturers on process optimisation and the move from fragmented, homemade tools toward scalable, automated systems.
Alex later invited Martynas to a wood industry conference, where he met Pinja's CEO in person which led to the start of the collaboration to find a solution to Deligna’s unique situation.
Proof before commitment
Before signing, Pinja invited Martynas and his team to Finland to see the system running at one of the world's largest wooden house production companies. Seeing the solution in a comparable industrial setting gave the team confidence to move forward.
Understanding the business
Before development started, Pinja’s team spent nearly a full day at the Deligna factory mapping processes and understanding how the business operated. Rather than offering generic ERP functionality, the team designed the solution around the company's specific workflows and production logic.
As Alex from Sigli describes it: "Pinja's advantage lies in its deep industry knowledge combined with practical experience in business systems and industrial integration. Martynas evaluated several other ERP providers, but they all offered the same answer: you provide the production data, we'll provide the software.
Pinja took a different approach. The team offered to help collect production data from the factory as well as implement the ERP, giving Deligna one partner for the entire digital transformation.
Solving the “impossible”
“We have more than 4,000 different pallet variations in our history. I thought it would be impossible for them to replicate my Excel calculations” shares Martynas.
He expected the complexity of his operations couldn't be replicated in an ERP but Pinja's team reproduced the logic in only five hours of work.
One digital system for the entire operation
Pinja built a central ERP system that brings together order management, invoicing, logistics, and production scheduling. Complex pallet calculations, CMR documents, invoicing and delivery information are now generated automatically instead of being managed manually.
Delivered in just three weeks
From scoping to delivery, the first implementation took around three weeks. While the rollout was fast, Pinja deliberately introduced the system in phases so employees could adopt each capability before moving to the next. Martynas described this gradual approach as one of the reasons the implementation was so successful.
No massive ERP project required
Getting the system running didn't require a massive, drawn-out ERP project. From Pinja's side, Business Director ERP Ari Harjula points to the rollout as an example of how quick and smooth an implementation can be when it's scoped and paced well.
"I thought it would be impossible for them to recreate my Excel calculations, but five hours of work with them and I had the solution. That was the biggest impression that they can do everything."

The time savings were apparent from day one. "One truckload order used to take 10 to 15 minutes to do all the paperwork. With Pinja’s ERP it's 30 to 60 seconds." says Martynas.
By automating calculations, transport documents and invoicing, routine order processing now takes a fraction of the time, saving him an estimated 5–10 hours every week.

The factory no longer depends on one person
Order and production information that once existed only in Martynas's head is now accessible to his team directly through the system. Two colleagues have already been trained to use it, meaning the business is no longer dependent on a single person for critical operational knowledge.

Beyond the operational numbers, Martynas points to a different kind of impact: less worry about forgotten orders, lost data, or what would happen to the business if something happened to him.
For years, Martynas couldn't truly disconnect from the business. The new system doesn’t just give him a faster workflow. He now has the freedom to step away and trust that the business will continue running smoothly.
As Martynas says, "Now all the orders are out there and I don't have to keep that in my head… I keep my head fresher and I'm relaxed that my data is safe. The biggest impact is that I sleep calmer. This is true.”

As he puts it, Ari "has the biggest and the best imagination of all the crew," consistently coming up with practical ideas and the simplest solutions to business problems.
Building the next phase
That trust is a big part of why Martynas is confident about what comes next. Pinja's approach, as he sums it up, is that “if you have logic, we can do anything” — as long as he can articulate the business logic, he trusts Pinja can implement it.
Deligna plans to continue digitalising its operations by adding production optimisation, warehouse processes and potentially sawmill integration.
"I know that in the near future there'll be some challenges when we will implement more production functionalities and warehouse steps. I am feeling good because at least three people from Pinja said we can make it happen — whatever you need. So I'm quite relaxed." says Martynas.
