What will maintenance managers invest in in 2024?

How to start developing maintenance operations

Developing maintenance is a long-term commitment, which, when successful, allows for a shift toward comprehensive and proactive maintenance management. The key to this work is to practically outline both the current state and processes of maintenance, as well as the desired future state and goals. Often, progress can be made, and results achieved, even with small actions.

There are many tools and methods available for creating a maintenance development plan, which help map the current situation and build a path toward the desired state. It’s advisable to choose an expert partner who ensures success now and in the future.

Why choose Pinja as your maintenance Ddvelopment partner?

IMPROVED MANAGEMENT

Harmonizing maintenance operational models enables uniform management and performance measurement. Standardized processes help reduce variations and provide clarity beyond daily noise. Open leadership and a transparent maintenance culture ensure that tasks are completed on time, and shared goals are clear.

EASIER DEVELOPMENT

A current state assessment identifies the current situation and prioritizes key areas for improvement. At the same time, it becomes easier to allocate development resources effectively. The development roadmap guides actions step-by-step toward world-class maintenance.

VISIBLE CHANGE

The development roadmap and up-to-date documentation help refine and validate maintenance processes, ensuring a common direction. Deviations in execution are identified faster, allowing for early resolution.

When and why to assess the current state of maintenance?

Maintenance can be improved with both internal resources and external expert help. The advantage of an external expert is often that they view the current state of maintenance with fresh eyes and without historical baggage. With their extensive experience, an external expert can identify key issues from various perspectives and highlight best practices both within the company’s industry and from other industrial sectors.

You should assess the current state of maintenance at least when:

  • You want to change operational methods, clarify processes, or create a new strategy.
  • There are changes in the organization or personnel.
  • You need new energy or ideas to develop operations.

CURRENT STATE ASSESSMENT

The assessment provides a clear picture of the current state of maintenance and helps identify strengths and short- and long-term areas for improvement. An external expert offers an objective and truthful perspective, allowing development to be data-driven rather than based on intuition.

DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

The roadmap helps prioritize actions, identify critical success factors, and focus the company’s development resources on the right areas. With carefully selected development steps, significant improvements can be achieved quickly and with relatively little effort.

MAINTENANCE DOCUMENTATION

Up-to-date documentation ensures that maintenance-related data is accessible to users anytime and anywhere. The goal is an open and transparent maintenance culture that is easy to introduce to new employees.
