A Finnish technology company Pinja has announced the appointment of Veli-Matti Nurminen as their new CEO. He will assume responsibilities on 1 June 2018 succeeding Pinja’s founder and current CEO Timo Akselin, who will continue in the Board of Directors.

Pinja, a company with a strong focus on industrial digitalisation services, has appointed Veli-Matti Nurminen as their new CEO. Veli-Matti Nurminen has a long-term experience in managerial positions in IT and software service enterprises. Currently, he is CEO of Cybercom Finland and has previously held managerial positions at Tieto, for example.

”Mr Nurminen is a very experienced leader with a strong background in acceleration of growth, internationalisation and IT. He has demonstrated successful leadership skills in several expert organisations and has a strong presence in the management of customer interface”, Timo Akselin says.

”It is great to have an expert like Veli-Matti Nurminen to lead Pinja’s future growth. Timo Akselin has done remarkable work with leading Pinja to the beginning of the new era of growth. He will continue as a member of the board to assist in implementing the company’s growth strategy. I want to thank Mr Akselin for the work he has done so far and wish Mr Nurminen warmly welcome in the company”, comments Juha Tukiainen, chairman of the Board of Pinja.

Strong growth with company acquisitions

In recent times, Pinja has grown with several company acquisitions. In early 2018, they made four significant business acquisitions: Descal Engineering, Netwell, Inray and Vision Systems.

With these deals, Pinja has strengthened its expertise in industrial expert services and system deliveries, software solutions, digitalisation services for communication and management, machine vision solutions and real-time measurement systems.

”For example, with Inray, we can bring remarkable savings to power and thermal plants providing them with a fully automated fuel measurement and analysis solution with real-time data. Customers will save money when they pay only for the actual fuel. In addition, this technology has many other applications”, Timo Akselin describes one example of the recent business acquisitions.

”Rapid growth will continue with the development of industrial automation. In the future, we will continue to concentrate on our strength: to provide our customers with new solutions by combining opportunities of digitalisation and strong technological expertise. I am happy to be able to bring this development forward as Pinja’s CEO”, Veli-Matti Nurminen says.
