Time to find a new partner

Eriwood’s old ERP system was no longer supported, and it was time to find a new solution. Different options were carefully studied to select the best and most secure system provider. In the end, Timber by Pinja was the obvious choice.

The transition to the new ERP system was gradual. Pinja was responsive to Eriwood’s ideas and developed the system according to their needs. Pinja developed a browser-based user interface and integration with accounting for Timber by Pinja to meet Eriwood’s needs.

Smoother everyday life

Timber by Pinja enables management of the entire sales process in a single system. Everyday life has become easier, and efficiency has increased. The continuous dialog between Eriwood and Pinja allows the system to be developed also for future needs.

Apparent time savings already after a few months

A few years ago, Eriwood’s old ERP system had reached the end of its life cycle, and it was time for a system change. Eriwood carefully studied different suppliers before making the decision to switch to Timber by Pinja. For Eriwood, it was important to find a system provider that was serious, dependable, and of a reasonable size. Eriwood reasoned that too small a supplier could be vulnerable and disappear from the market, while a giant supplier could be unpredictable to work with.

Cooperation with Pinja began in 2022. Through joint discussions and workshops, Pinja identified the client’s specific needs, and developed, among other things, a new browser-based module for Eriwood to be used for the trading of wood products. The final transition from the old system to Timber by Pinja took place in summer 2023. After just a few months of use, Eriwood noticed clear time savings.

Efficiency and an easier daily life with Timber by Pinja

Eriwood’s entire sales process is now incorporated into Timber by Pinja. Everything from cost estimates and purchase contracts to inventory management and billing is in one place. Pinja also built an accounting integration for Eriwood. It allows customer information and sales accounting to be linked to the rest of the ERP system. With accurate data from Timber by Pinja, it has also become easier for Eriwood to make successful business decisions regarding pricing, among others. 

For a wholesaler offering a one-stop-shop solution for its customers, it is particularly important that all information is easily accessible.  The smoother flow of information within the company is also visible to customers. For example, response times have been reduced as staff can access information via Timber by Pinja’s browser version, even when they are on the move. 

– Now we can be sure not to miss out on business. Automating also saves time for other tasks, says Petersson.

Easier traceability of wood material

Sustainability is an absolute must in the Nordic wood processing industry. New directives on wood material traceability come into force, and companies are regularly audited. Eriwood is certified under both FSC and PEFC, and it is important that the company minimizes its ecological footprint. When it comes to sustainability, it is essential to work with suppliers who share the same values, and can ensure the sustainable origin of the wood. Here again, Timber by Pinja comes in handy; information on the origin of the timber is stored in the system, and can be easily retrieved when needed.

Continuous development – together

Although the ERP system is now fully operational, the development work is not over.
