What technologies do we use for integrations?
In its simplest form, an integration solution can be a point-to-point integration between two systems, where data is transferred directly between the systems. However, different gateways and integration platforms, where all data passes through a centralized hub, have become increasingly popular. This approach offers advantages in terms of application maintenance costs, as data often moves within the integration layer in the same format.
Maintenance integrations can be implemented using numerous technologies, such as SOAP Web Service, REST API, RFC Interface, OPC Interface, and OData Interface, to name a few. The choice of implementation method should primarily be based on the needs: which solution best supports the goals.
