Suomen Hyötytuuli is a pioneer in Finnish wind power generation. Founded in 1998 and owned by 8 Finnish municipal energy companies, Suomen Hyötytuuli is involved in mitigating climate change by producing clean and renewable energy, and strengthening Finland’s independence from imported fossil fuels. From now on, the company’s maintenance is managed with the Novi by Pinja maintenance management system.
According to plant manager Simo Vahteristo, the company produces wind energy in seven wind farms in Pori, Kalajoki, Raahe, and Pyhäjoki. There are also three wind farms under construction and several development projects in different parts of Finland.
– Our growth is solid, and the production capacity is increasing a lot in the coming years. This also challenges maintenance to develop and improve activities such as planning and activity management. It is important that we are prepared for the challenges of growth, and have the flexibility to scale our activities to meet changing needs.
According to Vahteristo, Suomen Hyötytuuli chose to implement the Novi system because Novi enables the management of all maintenance-critical functions in a single system.
– For example, inventory management and the potential to develop spare parts and spare part orders are important to us. In addition, our industry emphasizes user management, as there are many partners. The system must be easy to use and intuitive, so that it can be used quickly and effortlessly. User management must also be easy, Vahteristo sums up.
Being Finnish was also an important criterion in the selection process.
– We consider Pinja to be a stable and reliable operator. A stable organization, the ability to respond to different needs, and a support service close by were key factors in the selection process.
